Description

Ladbrook House is a former house, now offices, located on a bend in a terrace in Wells. It dates from the mid to late 18th century. The building is rendered with a false ashlar lining and stone dressings, topped by a double Roman clay tiled roof with coped gables, and a brick chimney stack.

The two-storey house has an attic and presents three bays plus two additional bays on slightly different planes. It features a plinth, rusticated pilasters marking the ends and change of plane, a cornice, and a plain parapet. The windows are sash windows, with the upper bay window featuring leaded glass with coloured panels. The main entrance is in the lower bay, featuring a six-panel door within a "Gibbs surround" architrave with a pediment hood supported by console brackets. A second doorway to the right of bay five is set in a three-centred arch with a simple architrave and shaped fanlight. Four segmental-arch roofed dormers are present, each containing a two-light casement window.

The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
