Description

This chest tomb, dated 1624, is located 1 metre north of the northeast corner of the organ chamber in the churchyard of the Church of St Lawrence. It is likely made of Doulting stone and has a buried base with plain sides. The tomb features a flat top with angled under-coving. The main inscription is found on the west side within an incised frame, though most of it has been lost, leaving the date 1624 still discernible.
