Description
Lollover Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 17th and 19th centuries. It is built from local stone that is cut and squared, with a roughly coursed appearance. The north block has a clay double Roman tile roof, while the lower south block features thatch and plain gables. There are brick chimney stacks at each end. The cottage is two storeys high, with an attic in the north half, and consists of two bays on each half.
The north block has small cross-glazed casement windows with flat arched heads that are voussoired and keystoned, arranged irregularly. The south block has similar windows, including one above a wide boarded door in a heavy frame and another in the lower bay. There is also a lean-to with a double Roman tiled roof. Although the interior has not been seen, reports indicate that there is a fireplace in the south gable end with traces of ovens, fragments of jointed crucks, and a bead-moulded stud and panel partition.
