Description

Holman's Place and Holman's Annex is a house with a barn that has been converted into an annex. The building dates from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 18th century and early 19th century, along with further work in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, topped with tile roofs, some of which have stone tiles at the eaves, and features coped verges and brick stacks.

The building has an irregular plan and an L-shaped road frontage, standing two storeys high with a layout of one and two bays. The left side features a projecting wing with a front-facing gable, two-light wooden-mullioned windows, and a 16-pane sash window. The right return of the wing has 16-pane sash windows, while the right two bays contain three-light casements with glazing bars on the first floor and a dormer gable, along with a three-light casement on the ground floor. There is a door opening on the right return with a six-panelled door. A former door opening in the angle between the wing and the right range has been blocked, with a three-light casement now inserted in its place. Part of the barn at the rear, which is at right angles to the main building, has been converted into a flat known as Holman's Annex. The interior includes some early 19th-century features, such as a fireplace and doors.
