Description
Penrose Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th to 17th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with a thatched roof featuring a coped verge and two brick ridge stacks. The building is single storey with an attic and has three bays. The ground floor has two and three-light casements, which are set under 20th-century concrete lintels, while the first floor features casements from the 19th century with "eyebrow" detailing. There is a door opening on the right side of the cottage, which contains a 20th-century door. To the left of the front, there is a short section of rubble wall that runs at right angles, capped with pantiles. Inside, the cottage has two inglenook fireplaces and a roof that includes windbracing.
