Description

No 34 on High Street is a late 17th century building constructed of red brick. It features a stepped band at the second floor and a deep moulded cornice at the eaves. The high-pitched roof has stone copings and kneelers, although it has been renewed with concrete ridged tiles. The building stands three storeys tall and has six windows. The sash windows on the first floor have gauged flat brick arches and stone sills, but the bars have been lost. The upper floors have plain casements. The ground floor has a modern shop front. To the left, there is a panelled yard door set in a stone door case designed in an "artisan mannerist" style, which includes a pedimented head and a woolsack carved in the tympanum.
