Description
Langcliffe Lodge is a former gate lodge to Langcliffe Place, now functioning as a cottage, and it dates back to 1839. The building is constructed of ashlar with a slate roof and is designed in the Gothic style attributed to George Webster of Kendal. It has one and a half storeys and features two bays. The left side has a gabled porch with a round-headed entrance, which includes a moulded architrave and keystone. The door is a 20th-century plank type, and the lodge has wooden bargeboards and a ridge finial. On the ground floor, there is a window to the right and a half dormer above that contains 20th-century casements. A central ridge stack serves three flues. The left return of the building features a bay window with two cross windows. To the south of the lodge, there is a portion of a curved garden wall and iron railings, along with one stone gate pier topped with a ball finial.
