Description
Helmsley House Stable and Garden Wall is a late 18th-century structure located on the north side of the A166 in Helmsley. The stable is built of brick in stretcher bond, while the garden wall is constructed in English bond, topped with a pantile roof.
The stable features a two-storey gable end facade facing north, which includes two stable doors and a two-step mounting block below a six-pane fixed window to the right. On the first floor, there is a pitching door that shows signs of having its lower half blocked, along with a blocked window to the right. The sides of the stable have dentilled eaves.
The garden wall stands approximately 3.5 metres high and has recesses, rising to the left end over a round-arched opening. There is a 19th-century lean-to shed at the left end, which is not of special interest. The stable and garden wall are included for their group value with Helmsley House.
