Description
Nos 32 and 33 Sandside are part of an early to mid 18th century block that includes Nos 34 and 35. The buildings rise five storeys, with an attic and cellars. They are constructed of red brick, featuring a plinth with stone capping and brick strings between the storeys. The eaves cornice is moulded and coved, leading to a hipped old pantile roof, which has one modernised dormer.
Originally, the south front had four windows, with two closely set for each house; however, the left-hand windows of No 33 have been blocked. The windows are framed with flush architraves, including sashes and pivot casements. The doors are four-panel designs with rectangular fanlights, set in doorcases that have pilasters and an entablature. There is a small window above the door of No 32, along with cellar windows and a hatch. The return front to the east, adjoining Nos 34 and 35, is blind, although it is possible that windows have been blocked.
Nos 32 to 35 form a group.
