Description
Scarah Bank Farmhouse is a house and barn, now functioning as a house, dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with a graduated stone slate roof. The building is two storeys tall and has two bays for the house and four bays for the barn range. The house features quoins and a central glazed 20th-century door set in a plain surround. On each floor, there are flanking 6-pane sash windows in slightly projecting surrounds, with the sills of the ground-floor windows lowered. The roof has shaped kneelers and gable coping, with end stacks, the one to the right being corniced. The former barn to the left includes a byre door on the right and a door to the upper floor in the centre, along with 20th-century 12-pane windows.
