Description

The gate piers and front garden wall of Aldbrough Hall date from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed from ashlar and rubble. In front of the house, there are two gate piers made of monolithic ashlar, which are square in plan. These piers feature bases, cornice capitals, and are topped with urn-style finials on pedestals. The front wall and the quadrant returns to the left of the house are made of rubble, standing approximately 1 meter high, with flat coping and ogee-shaped capitals at intervals. On both the left and right sides, there are terminating piers made of ashlar, also square in plan, which include bases, a band, and a cap.
