Description
No 25 on Kirkgate is a former house that has been converted into club premises. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and is constructed of rendered brick with limestone details, topped by a 20th-century tiled roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has five bays. It features a rendered plinth and chamfered stone quoins.
There are two steps leading up to the central 20th-century glazed double doors, which are topped by a fanlight with glazing bars. These doors are framed by an entrance with attached Tuscan columns that support an open triangular pediment. The ground and first floors have sash windows with glazing bars, while the second floor features 6-light sashes. All windows have projecting sills and keystones, which continue into the bands that run across the first and second floors. The building also has large end stacks positioned both forward of and behind the ridge.
