Description

This late 18th-century house is located on the south side of Kirkgate in Knaresborough. The building is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with stone detailing and a stone slate roof. It is three storeys high and one bay wide. The left side features quoins, and there's a rendered plinth. A 20th-century panelled door is situated to the right, accessed under a round arch formed with rusticated voussoirs and quoins. A bow window is on the left side and features glazing bars, topped with a plain cornice. Above the bow window is a four-pane sash window set within a flush wood architrave, featuring a stone sill and a splayed lintel with a double keystone. To the second floor, a side-sliding sash window with glazing bars is similarly detailed with a sill and lintel. A stack is visible at the left gable end. At the rear is a two-storey, one-bay extension with 20th-century windows.
