Description
The barn at Nunwick House Farm is a structure that possibly dates back to the 16th century, with restorations made in the 19th century. It features a timber frame, with the outer walls rebuilt using cobble and brick, and has a pantile roof that includes two eaves courses of stone slates. The barn consists of four aisled bays, although the south aisle has been removed. On the south front, there is a central board door and a 20th-century barn door located far to the right. Three timber posts are visible in this area, and the roof is hipped to the left (west).
Inside, there are three pairs of timber posts that support tie beams and posts for the north aisle. The roof is constructed with common rafters, and purlins are supported by queen posts that rise from the tie beams. Short collars can be found in two bays, which are pegged to the common rafters. The east end of the barn has been altered and rebuilt.
