Description

This is a mile-post from the late 19th century, featuring a cast-iron face mounted on a gritstone support. The mile-post has a triangular shape with a rounded top and stands approximately 1 metre high. The inscriptions on the mile-post include "Collingham and York / Road / Long Marston" at the top, "Wetherby 5½ miles / Collingham 7½ miles / Leeds 18 miles" on the left face, and "York 8 miles" on the right face.
