Description
This is a mile-post located approximately 350 metres east of the turning to Bickerton, dating from the late 19th century. It features a cast-iron face mounted on a gritstone support. The mile-post is triangular in section with a rounded top and stands about 80 centimetres high. The inscriptions include "Collingham and York Road / Bickerton" at the top, "Wetherby 3½ miles / Collingham 5½ miles / Leeds 16 miles" on the left face, and "York 10 miles" on the right face.
