Description
The Mount and Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of pale red-brown local brick laid in Flemish bond and features a wood eaves cornice. The roof is made of pantiles, complete with stone coping, kneelers, and end stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has three bays, with a central section that projects forward. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by a patterned radial fanlight, all framed by a hood in a pedimented doorcase supported by consoles. The windows are 16-pane sashes set in flush wood architraves, with painted lintels that include keyblocks. To the left of the main house is a detached outbuilding, likely a former servants' dwelling, made of similar brick and featuring a hipped pantile roof. This outbuilding is two storeys tall and has one bay with 16-pane sash windows.
