Description

The Manor is a house built in the early to mid-19th century, with a mid-20th century addition. It has a rendered exterior and a purple slate roof. The building is two storeys tall and features three bays across the front, with a rear service wing. The central bay of the main front projects slightly. There is a central six-panel door with a fanlight, which is sheltered by a Tuscan porch added in the mid-20th century. On either side of the entrance are eight-pane sash windows, while the remaining windows are 16-pane sashes, all with projecting sills. The house has cast-iron gutters and a hipped roof with pink gritstone banded stacks located to the left and right, behind the ridge.

On the left side of the house, there is a French window on the left and a 16-pane sash window on the right, with two similar windows on the first floor. The right side features a French window on the left and a large square recess with an inserted sash window on the right, along with three 16-pane sash windows on the first floor.

Inside, there is a large entrance hall that includes a fine staircase with two straight flights. The balustrade of the stairs and landing has slender vase balusters and a ramped handrail. The ground floor has four-panel doors, a moulded ceiling cornice, a segmental-arched recess, and a late 18th-century pine fireplace on the left. The first floor contains two fireplaces from the late 18th to early 19th century.
