STUTTON WITH HAZLEWOOD HAZLEWOOD CASTLE ESTATE SE 43 NW 6/53 Groom's House and stable and walls adjoining approximately 20 metres to north of Castle GV II Groom's house, stables now residential unit, and walls adjoining. Mid - late C18 with later alterations. Probably by John Carr. Magnesian limestone ashlar with grey slate roof. House. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Plinth. Recessed round-arched arcade contains central round-arched entrance an 8- fielded-panel door. Round-arched multi-paned windows with radial glazing to heads. Continuous impost band. First-floor continuous sill band. 6-pane sashes with flat arches. Projecting eaves band. Hipped roof. Walls adjoining from 2 sides of courtyard to west and south. To south side a Tudor-arched carriage entrance. Otherwise arcade of arches within recessed arches, some blind, with continuous impost band and band above. The walls abutt the castle to the rear. The west side in process of alteration at time of re-survey.
