Description
No. 3 Birdgate is a building from the 18th or early 19th century, featuring two storeys constructed of stone with a pantile roof and coped gable ends. It has brick stacks at the gable ends, a moulded eaves cornice, and a painted blocking course. The building displays rusticated quoins and a stone plinth. There are two slightly bowed window projections that rise to the height of the cornice, each with hung sashes that include glazing bars and stone lintels. The central door is made up of six panels and is set within a round-arched doorway that has a blocked radiating fanlight above it. Access to the door is via five stone steps, which are flanked by iron railings and feature a moulded newel finial. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 to 9 and No. 12, as well as Nos. 14 to 19 Birdgate.
