Description

This is an 18th-century house of two storeys, built on a raised basement, located on the west side of Hall Garth. The house is constructed of red brick with stone rusticated quoins. It has a pantile roof with brick stacks at each gable end, which are finished with coped details. The front facade features three windows on each upper floor, each with a triple keystoned brick voussoir surround and hung sashes with glazing bars. A small modern window is also present. The ground floor has two similar windows. The doorway has a blocked semi-circular fanlight above, flanked by grooved pilasters and topped with an entablature featuring Adam-style ornamentation. Steps lead up to the entrance, and a wooden balustrade sits above the basement garage opening and the ground-floor windows. Numbers 24, The Parish Hall, 25, and 26 to 28 form a group, with numbers 26 to 28 and their outbuildings being of local interest.
