Description

This is a mid-19th century schoolhouse. It is built of coursed rubble, with the front elevation finished in hammered stone. The building has two storeys and two gables facing the road; the larger gable features a stone finial. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. Ashlar is used for the quoins and dressings. The front has two windows: one is a two-light window, and the other a single light, both set within double recessed splayed reveals. The ground floor has a single two-light window with a rectangular dripmould, which connects to the dripmould above the door. The door itself has ornamental hinges and shaped spandrels. It forms a group with The Parish Hall, No 25, and Nos 26 to 28, along with the outbuildings to Nos 26 to 28, which are noted for their local interest.
