Description
The Vicarage is a building with origins dating back to the 17th century, which was refronted in the mid-19th century. It has a front that features two storeys and attics, constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and rusticated quoins. The roof is made of pantiles and has coped gable ends with kneelers. There are five windows in total; three of these are mullion and transom windows with four lights, while the other two are two-storey bays, one rectangular and one canted, also featuring mullion and transom lights. The ground floor includes a gabled wooden porch with sidelights. The left-hand section of the building has a moulded string course between the storeys, and the right-hand section features an eight-light mullion and transom window. To the right, there is an extension that was formerly an outbuilding and is now used as a garage, built from coursed stone with a pantile roof. The Vicarage is part of a visual group with the listed buildings in Hall Garth and the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul.
