Description
Zion Sunday School is a Congregational Sunday school, now part of the United Reformed Church, built in 1852. It is constructed of brown brick in English garden wall bond and features a Welsh slate roof. The building is a single storey with three bays.
On the north elevation, there are three round-arched panels; the central panel is blind and has an ashlar sandstone plaque inscribed with 'SUNDAY SCHOOL ERECTED 1852'. The outer two panels contain round-arched sash windows with glazing bars, which are radial at the top. An eaves band runs along the top. The entrance is located through later additions to the east, which are not of special interest. The right return of the building has two matching windows. The design is in the same style as the nearby Zion United Reformed Church to the east. This building is included for its group value.
