Description
The stables, now used as farm stores, are located approximately 30 metres to the east of Snape Castle and date from the early 17th century. They are constructed of rubblestone and feature a graduated stone slate roof. The building is L-shaped, with a lower wing adjoining to the left. It stands two storeys high and consists of a two-bay block with a four-bay wing.
On the left side of the taller block, there is a four-centre-arched doorway. The lower block has two openings on the first floor, which have chamfered surrounds and display two coats of arms. The other openings are of a later date. An external stairway is located on the left return of the wing. The gable at the east end features a two-light mullioned window.
