Description
Lilac Cottage is a cottage that likely dates back to the 17th century, although it has earlier origins. The building is constructed from rubblestone and cobble, rendered, and features a modern pantile roof. It has a lobby-entry plan and is one storey high with five bays. The central board door is set in a chamfered reveal. In bays four and five, there are three-light side-sliding sashes, while bay three has a two-light side-sliding sash with a one-light casement. Bay one contains a 20th-century casement, and bay two has a four-pane casement. The cottage has two end stacks and one stack on the ridge.
Inside, there are four cruck trusses and a large central inglenook fireplace with a fire window leading into the lobby.
