Description

Ashla Cottage is a mid-18th century house located in Firby. It is built of rubble stone with a pantile roof. The building is two storeys high and has four bays. A four-panel door is set within a flush wood surround, with a flat brick arch situated between the second and third bays. Above the door is a square stone sundial. The ground-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars, with the exception of a four-pane sash window in the right-hand bay. The first floor has sixteen-pane side-sliding sash windows. All windows are topped with flat brick arches and have stone sills. There are end stacks.
