Description

Ye Olde Sun Inne is a house that has been converted into an inn, dating from the early 18th century, with later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a pantile roof. It has two storeys and three windows on the first floor. There is a 20th-century entrance located under a porch between the second and third windows, and another 20th-century glazed door to the left. The windows are Yorkshire sashes with glazing bars, including a 16-pane sash set in a flush wood architrave beneath a cambered arch. A broken two-course band runs along the first floor, and there are Yorkshire sashes with glazing bars on the first floor above a cogged band. The roof line has been heightened, and there are remains of an ashlar kneeler to the right of the swept roof, along with end stacks. The rear of the building features irregular 19th and 20th-century outshuts.
