Description
Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with a 19th-century extension on the right and an early 18th-century range at the rear. It is constructed of orange-brown brick, featuring orange brick and magnesian limestone dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, along with a single bay extension.
The mid-18th century section has a magnesian limestone plinth and orange brick quoins. The entrance door, located in the third bay, is from the 19th century and is set beneath an oblong fanlight and a flat arch made of rubbed brick, which includes a central ashlar keystone and quoined jambs. The windows throughout are sashes with glazing bars, although the windows in the second bay are narrower. All windows are framed with flush wood architraves and have ashlar cills. The windows in the 18th-century block have orange brick quoined jambs, while those in the right extension are set under flat arches of gauged brick.
Additional features of the 18th-century block include a four-course band at the first floor level, a four-course band above the first floor windows, and an eaves band. The building has end and ridge stacks.
