Description

Rose Cottage is an early to mid-18th century house located on the north side of Main Street, Bilbrough. The house is built of pinkish-brown brick with a pantile roof. It is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays. A 20th-century door now occupies the position between the first two bays. A blocked entrance, formerly located between the second and third bays, is retained as an elliptical arch. The windows are 20th-century casements, with stone cills. A two-course band is visible on the first floor, and a plain band marks the eaves. The roof is swept, with ridge stacks. The left ground floor room contains beams, though the interior has not been fully inspected.
