Description
This is a house and shop located at 8 St Michael Street in Malton, dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the later 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed dressed sandstone and features a pantile roof. It has a two-storey facade with three windows. The front door is recessed and positioned to the right of the center, with a four-pane sash window further to the right. On the left side, there is a plain pilaster and cornice single shop front that includes a recessed half-glazed and panelled door along with a plate-glass window. On the first floor, the windows are also four-pane sashes. All openings in the house have flat arches made of voussoirs, and each sash window is fitted with painted stone sills.
