Description
This is a house dating from the early 19th century, originally listed as the Estate office of Duncombe Park. Constructed of squared coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, it has a stone slate roof and stone stacks. The design follows a central hallway plan with two rooms in depth, and it extends over three storeys plus a basement. The front facade is three bays wide, reached by eight steps leading to a six-panel door set beneath a radial fanlight and within an open-pedimented doorcase featuring attached Tuscan columns and fluted friezes. It is flanked by sash windows with glazing bars. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars, while the second floor has six-pane sashes. Stone surrounds are present on all windows. A cast-iron rainwater head with a flute design is visible. The building is finished with a wooden modillion cornice and gable coping. There are end stacks. To the left of the main house is an archway leading to a garden.
