Description

This is a terrace of six cottages, built in the late 18th or early 19th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed sandstone and limestone rubble, with a continuous pantile roof and brick stacks. Nos 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 have a direct-entry plan, while No 11 also features a hearth-passage plan. The terrace has two storeys and twelve first-floor windows. Nos 7, 9, and 11 have 20th-century half-glazed doors, No 3 exhibits a 20th-century shop front, and No 5 has a board door. The windows are casement windows with wooden lintels, except for No 5, which has 6-pane sash windows, and No 11, which has two Yorkshire sash windows. Six stacks are positioned at the party walls between the cottages, with the exception of No 11, where a stack is located to the left of the passage. The roofline changes between Nos 3 and 5, and again at the hearth-passage to No 11.
