Description

Buckingham House is a house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, situated on the east side of Bridge Street, Helmsley. The construction is of coursed sandstone rubble, with a pantile roof and brick stacks. It has a central hallway entrance. The facade is symmetrical, with two bays over two storeys. A six-panel door is set under a radial fanlight, flanked by reeded pilasters with paterae on their friezes, topped by a dentilled open pediment. There are 16-pane sash windows throughout, each with a stone lintel. The building has gable coping and a coved eaves band. End stacks are present. The front garden is defined by plain iron railings and a gate.
