Description

Nos 115 and 116 on Eastgate are 18th-century cottages built from coursed rubble with a pantile roof. No 115 features a modern semi-dormer on the upper floor, with six lights above a modern mullion and transom window of six lights set in an old opening. There is a modern door beneath a lintel. No 116 has one window with three lights above a sliding sash window of three lights with glazing bars, and a plain door with a contemporary knocker. To the right, there is a full-height carriage entry. The openings have wood lintels. These cottages are part of a group that includes Nos 105 to 126, the Royal Oak Public House, the Employment Exchange, No 133, and the Crossways Hotel, with some of these buildings being of local interest.
