Description

No. 117 Eastgate is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys high, constructed from roughly coursed stonework and topped with a pantile roof featuring a flat stone verge and shaped corbels at the eaves. The building has three chimneys, one of which is original and made of stone with capping. It displays a cavetto moulded eaves cornice and has a plain stone plinth. There are three casement windows with rendered lintels on both floors. The property has two doors: one is modern and half-glazed, while the other is fielded. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 105 to 126, the Royal Oak Public House, the Employment Exchange, No. 133, and the Crossways Hotel, with some of these being of local interest.
