Description
These are two mid-19th century buildings located on the north side of Park Street in Ripon. They are constructed of stucco. The buildings are three storeys high and have a coved eaves cornice. Number 7 and 8 are three bays wide; the tripartite sash windows have glazing bars and keystones. The side bays of both buildings have two-storey canted bays with moulded cornices. The canted bay to number 8 was rebuilt later and includes Tuscan angle pilasters. The centre bay of the buildings slightly projects forward and is topped by a pediment, containing two doors, each with six fielded panels and flat hoods supported by cast iron brackets. A later two-bay extension to number 8 features segment-headed sash windows with moulded surrounds. There is a canted oriel window on the first floor and a tripartite sash window on the ground floor set within a depressed arched surround of rusticated jambs and voussoirs. The entrance to the extension is a door with two sash side-lights, framed by Tuscan pilasters and an entablature.
