Description

The Tempest Arms Public House is a building dating from 1786 and 1801, constructed from coursed squared rubble with a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and originally served as a public house, featuring four bays with quoins. The first bay includes 3-light recessed square mullion windows. The second bay has a former doorway with a plain surround and hood, above which is a plaque inscribed with "BH 1786" and "the Tempest Arms." The third bay contains a 2-light flush square mullion window above a single light. The right-hand portion of the building, which was previously a barn or stable, features a flat arched entry with "D TE 1801" carved on the keystone. The building is topped with four stacks.
