Description

The Church of All Saints is a Grade I listed building, likely dating from the early 16th century. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and features a west tower, nave, and chancel that are roofed continuously, along with a north aisle and south porch. The church is designed in the Perpendicular style and has irregular fenestration, including square-headed windows with round-headed lights. The east window consists of three cusped traceried lights. The tower is adorned with diagonal buttresses, gargoyles, battlements, and pinnacles, and features arched belfry windows along with a two-light square-headed window on the first stage. The south porch has heavy collars supporting the roof and provides access to a 12th-century doorway with one order of waterleaf capitals, although the shafts are missing. There is also a round-headed blocked priest's door on the south side of the chancel.

Inside, the church has a six-bay arcade supported by octagonal columns and a plain chamfered tower arch. The nave features a 19th-century king-post roof, with trusses resting on short hammer posts from corbels. The chancel likely has a 16th-century roof with king posts and collars, cambered trusses, and a brattished wall plate. Notable furnishings include a parclose screen with traceried heads in the north aisle and two early 16th-century alabaster figures of The Virgin, which were found in the churchyard and are now placed on window sills. There are several memorials dedicated to the Tempest family.
