Description
West Lodge to Broughton Hall, built around 1855 by Andrews and Delaunay of Bradford, is a lodge constructed from rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and features a decorative blue slate roof. This two-storey building is designed in the Tudor style and has two bays facing the drive, which include a Tudor doorway under a canopy and chamfered mullion windows beneath two differently shaped gables. There is a rectangular bay window and a triangular oriel on the first floor. A prominent feature on the right-hand return wall is a large external stack with ornamental flues and an inset plaque displaying the Tempest Arms. The attached screen wall features gableted panelled piers with shields and cast iron Gothic railings.
