Description

Milestone located on the north side of the A 64 in East Heslerton, likely dating from the early 19th century. It is made of sandstone and is partly damaged, with the stone deeply sunk into the ground. The front was originally painted white, but the inscription is now illegible; it probably indicated distances to Scarborough and Malton. This milestone is included for its historic interest.
