Description
The lychgate and attached churchyard wall of the Church of St Andrew were built in 1877 by G E Street. The lychgate features a gate made of sandstone ashlar with a stone flag roof. It has a two-centred arch with a hoodmould and a gabled roof topped with a cross at the north end. There are gabled buttresses on both sides. The wall is low, buttressed, and sits on a chamfered plinth, with sloped and roll-moulded coping. Inside the gate, there is a pointed tunnel vault with closely set transverse ribs. The wall fully encloses the churchyard of St Andrew's Church.
