Description

This is an 18th-century house, accompanied by two cottages, now used as a house, cottage, and flat. The building is constructed from coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. The main house is three stories high and has a 3-bay front with a 2-bay side. The central doorway is set within a 19th-century classical ashlar sandstone doorcase with a part-glazed door and overlight. Flanking the door are ashlar sandstone canted bays featuring sash windows. The first floor has sash windows within plain ashlar surrounds, while the second floor has side-sliding sash windows also in plain ashlar surrounds. Chimneys are located between bays one and two, and at the right end. To the right of the main house are the cottage and flat. The ground floor of the cottage and flat includes a 20th-century door, a garage door, a part-glazed door in a plain ashlar surround, and an 8-pane sash window with a projecting sill and a sill-like lintel. The first floor has casement and 8-pane sash windows, also with projecting sills and sill-like lintels. The second floor features casement and side-sliding sash windows. An end chimney is positioned on the right. The cottage and flat are included in the listing to contribute to the group value.
