Description
The garden walls with archways and gates, located approximately 150 metres west of Stockeld Park House, date from the late 18th century. These red brick walls are constructed in English garden wall bond and feature ashlar dressings around the arched openings, along with wrought-iron gates. The walls, which enclose a rectangular garden on the east, south, and west sides, stand about 3 metres high and are topped with ashlar copings. The round-headed archways are accented with long and short quoins. The single-leaved gates include dog bars, roundels on the lock rail, and an elaborate central panel with an arched upper section, showcasing ornate C and S scrolls and leaf decoration.
