Description
Old Stud Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It is built of coursed gritstone and features a Westmorland slate roof. The house has two storeys and the main block has three first-floor windows. To the right, there is a lower and narrower two-storey section with one bay, along with a very small single-storey addition at the angle between the two ranges.
The facade of the main block includes a four-panel door located to the right of the centre, topped by a heavy incised lintel. All ground and first-floor windows have incised lintels, stone sills, and recessed 16-pane sash windows. The central window on the first floor is longer than the others. In the right block, the ground-floor window features a stone sill and a sash with glazing bars, while above it is a 16-pane sash with a plain stone lintel and sill. The small addition has a sash with glazing bars, also with a plain stone lintel and sill. Both two-storey sections are topped with ashlar copings and cyma reversa kneelers, and there are end stacks on the main range.
