Description

Two houses, now offices, dating from the early 19th century, with possible origins in the 18th century. The front of the building is rendered, while the gable walls are of pink and cream mottled brick. It has a moulded eaves cornice of timber at the front and of pulvinated stone at the rear, with brick stacks at each end and to the right of centre of the pantile roof. The front has a three-storey, four-window facade. Number 7 has a 20th-century double shop front with a recessed door between plate glass windows. A plain passage entrance to the right of centre has a door of raised-and-fielded panels, with a blocked overlight above. Number 9 has a door of six raised-and-fielded panels and a 20th-century window at the right end. The first-floor windows of Number 7 are top-hung, while the first-floor windows of Number 9 are single-pane sashes. The second-floor windows are unequal nine-pane sashes; all windows, except those on the ground floor of Number 7, have stone sills and plain lintels. A rear second-floor window is a nine-pane sash with a cambered arch. The rear has a heavy pulvinated eaves cornice.
