Description

Nos. 4 and 5 form a house and cottage. They were built around the middle of the 18th century. The exterior is constructed of rubble with a Westmorland slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and have three windows on the first floor.

No. 4 is two bays wide. It has a central four-panel door set within a moulded stone surround. The windows are set in plain stone surrounds; the ground floor has sash windows, and the first floor has four-pane sashes. To the left is No. 5, a single-bay cottage with a part-glazed door on the right and matching sash windows. Ashlar copings run along the tops of the walls, and stacks are located at the end of the left-hand side and at each end of No. 4.
