Description
This is a mounting block with a sundial located approximately 15 metres south of Brimham Lodge. It is probably from the 17th century and is made of gritstone. The mounting block features three deep steps on either side of a central platform, measuring about 2 metres in width and 1.2 metres in height. The sundial has a shaft that is chamfered to a square top and stands one metre high, although the gnomon is missing. The sundial is positioned on the platform of the mounting block and may have been added later.
