Description
The brewery, now serving as a fuel store, dates from the late 18th to early 19th century and was built for the Hartley family. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and is a single-storey building with a basement on the right, consisting of two cells. The structure features quoins and openings that have keyed ashlar surrounds. The central entrance has a six-panel door within a part-quoined surround. To the left, there are sash windows with glazing bars, each containing 24 panes, and a shuttered coal chute is located below the right window. The roof is hipped, and on the right side, there is a board door set in a chamfered surround. Inside, to the left, there is a fireplace with a set-pot, stone sinks, and fielded panel window shutters. The building has also been used as a laundry at one time.
