Description

This is a house, dating to the mid-18th century, with alterations and extensions from the early to mid-19th century. It is built of rubble and has a 20th-century pantile roof. The house has two storeys and a 1:2:1 bay arrangement. The central section features a part-glazed six-panel door within a 20th-century, pedimented surround. It has sixteen-pane sash windows, with the windows below brick flat arches, and side pavilions. The central block has stepped brick eaves, interrupted by the heads of the first-floor windows. The side pavilions have half-hipped roofs. The central block has shaped kneelers, ashlar copings, and brick end stacks. At the rear, the central section has a part-glazed door within an ashlar door-case, topped by a slab canopy supported by brackets. To the left, an early to mid-19th century two-story segmental bow contains tripartite sash windows. The interior of the main block has six-panelled doors, with reeded panels leading to rooms with segmental bows. A first-floor room at the rear left contains an 18th-century stone fireplace with a wrought-iron grate and an ashlar surround.
